The Japanese Inspired Works on Wood Collection consists of traditional Japanese subjects and themes framing an artistic composition. Images depicting nature, rugged landscapes, flying cranes or Geishas in their elaborate kimonos, all evoking scenery of fascinating Japanese culture and heritage. Each has been hand-carved and painted with specialist paints and polished with beeswax finish for lustrous feel .

Exploration of the emotive and instinctual, often allowing the unconscious mind to have an effect on the drawing process. Works on paper, card, canvas or wood created in the artist's studio often metamorphose into a process of self-discovery. Figurative art in acrylic medium, oil pastels and mixed media are the chosen media of our artists. Different materials and techniques are used by our artists in their artistic expression. Whether their intention is to invite the viewer to engage in their query of interpretation or only creating a vision reminiscent of the artist's life experience and memories, the art is open to the viewer's interpretation.

Our abstract sculptures have evolved as a challenge in creating aesthetically pleasing art objects using a three-dimensional visual language. Specially selected wood blocks have been chosen for each piece. Free-standing, often on a metal pedestal, where line, form, proportion, light and shadow, pattern or unity are used as main principles in the creative process. Visually inviting pieces are engaging the spectator in their individual interpretation .
